Here at FT Transformers UL Ltd- our design team and skilled craftsmen have manufactured literally hundreds of “Mining type” transformers, These transformers ultimately end up in our customers enclosures that can be FLP or non FLP depending on the eventual location.

 

We design and manufacture utilising a “True” class “C” insulation system, incorporating the very best quality core to ensure no – load losses are kept to an absolute minimum. Achieving a “Real” output KVA requested by the client (no short time ratings here) is paramount.

 

We have manufactured units as small as 12 KVA for underground tunnelling projects to 4500KVA for use in coal mining applications, each project is specific and is designed to meet the customers’ requirements.

 

Voltage ranges are typically 1100 volts for tunnelling projects and 3300, 6600 and 11,000 volts for mining applications reducing to 1130 and 565 volts for mining applications.

 

Single secondary’s and double secondary’s (Dyn11) (Dd0yn11) are both common, as well as options for a low height 5 Limb core for tunnels that have limited head room.
